Images Guide

User Guide

After installation, you can add some photos from your Photo app then view them in Images Photo Viewer or Gallery. Images does not edit or adjust your photos in any way so you can safely play with the viewing options in Settings. Here are some instructions to get you started.

Gestures

Swipe up for your Photos. Select and add some, then pick Viewer or Gallery. Swipe down for Settings to change the blur style or how photos are projected in the Gallery. A long-press on the screen returns to the menu.

General

Images keeps your selected photos in memory for maximum performance. Reducing picture quality in Settings reduces the memory used by reducing the number of pixels. This will let you add more photos .

Viewer

Viewer naturally blurs parts you are not looking at, beautifully isolating your photo’s subjects. This currently requires that you keep your head and iPad still and calibrate the system before each use. Portrait photos work best, especially if you edit them in the Photos app to remove any blur.

Once you are comfortable with eye tracking, try a smaller scope size or hide the scope for a more realistic experience. Blur is the strength of the effect, with smaller being stronger. Gaussian blur looks like a translucent screen over the out of focus area and Bokeh is the circle pattern produced by a lens. Head Stabilization reduces the need to keep your head still.

Gallery

Gallery projects your photos into Augmented Reality. Walk within a circle of your photos. Select a few Panoramas to create a stunning 360° scene.

Photo size is the width of each photo. Distance is how far you are from the circle of photographs. Depth is the strength of the split or 3D effect. 3D styles take a few seconds to calculate.
